future artifacts - a poem
did we want large language models or did we want fortunetellers
we want progress we want fortunetellers we want a clear solution for the unclear future an answer to the grief and perhaps an end to the uncertainty we want feed for the hunger the hunger for speed and we want it automated the less present the better we want to tap out soon, please someone take care of this task leave us more time to be elsewhere because there must be somewhere else far away from this despair in the ruins of this world must lie the answer give the robots power tools let them knock down the walls and be the architects of some future finally end the pesky unions they don’t drill into their own fingers on accident their wives do not die they do not need to mourn or bask in the glee of a baby’s first breath they will never have to put the family dog down we have solved it i promise this is a final solution to the most trascendental unanswerable parable believe us there is no time for questions it is crucial we do not stop.
